Scania Malaysia recently handed over 10 Scania New Truck Generation to Chemtrax as part of a profitable and sustainable partnership in conjunction with the official launch of the Scania Malaysia Sales and Services Centre in Senai (SMY Senai) recently.
The 10 Scania trucks are five units of P360A4X2NA and five units of P410A6X2NA New Truck Generation that comes with a host of ADR safety features.
According to Chemtrax, the new trucks will be a plus-point for the company in assuring its customers’ safety for the deliveries as these Scania Trucks carry dangerous and hazardous materials.
It is worth mentioning here that Chemtrax’s drivers are highly trained in ADR certification that is in synch with safety features that the Scania trucks offer.
Among the key highlights of the new trucks are features like the lane departure warning and AEB Advance Emergency Brake (AEB) which add on as active safety support on top of the curtain and steering airbags that provide added safety to drivers.
And then we have the chassis which fulfils the requirements for vehicle type AT, and other equipment such as the speed limiter and controls on the instrument panel. AT is one of the levels of ADR classification of “other hazardous goods”.
This classification also includes certain basic requirements such as casings over exhaust systems.
Another highlight is the electric on and off button for the battery master switch is on the instrument panel and on the chassis, with built-in safety function so the button cannot be pressed by mistake.
Two steps are required to activate this function and will disconnect the current to the whole vehicle, except the alarm system.
The design of the New Truck Generation has improved from the previous generation making the truck more user-friendly with very comfortable adjustable seat that is close to the door, ergonomic dashboard and most importantly the large windscreen with extended view giving clear visibility from the different angles for the drivers making it easier for them to operate in a comfortable and safe environment.
“These trucks are tailored to withstand challenging surroundings, securing uptime and boosting productivity with tougher interiors, tougher exteriors and more power.
It is also designed and engineered to give Scania truck owners better fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions as it is equipped with advanced powertrain and aerodynamic solutions,” said Heba El Tarifi, Managing Director, Scania Southeast Asia.
“They give more than 3% fuel economy when coupled with Scania Contracted Services and Data-driven Services from Scania. These trucks are also financed by Scania Credit Malaysia – making all of it a total solution for the best profitability.”
“Good trucks can only remain good if they are maintained properly, using reliable, genuine and right spare parts. We, Scania and Chemtrax, are in the final stage of concluding a Maintenance Contract. I believe this will be signed soon. Thank you to Scania for the good trucks and the excellent after-sales services. It makes our safe delivery a lot easier,” stated Tuan Haji Jaffar.
