A teaser image of the compact SUV, showing nothing more than the headlights and daytime running lights, was shared on the brand’s official social media pages in Indonesia.

Although the name of the compact SUV is yet to be revealed, the lights clearly indicate that it is the Nissan Magnite B-segment SUV which just made its global debut in India in October.

Besides that, some of you may remember that Nissan also referred to the Magnite as a “technology-rich” SUV in India when it was revealed.

Sharing the same CMF-A platform as the Renault Tiber, the Nissan Magnite, which is expected to be launched in various markets from January 2021 onwards, measures less than 4 metres long, meaning that it will be smaller than the Nissan Kicks that is expected to be launched in Malaysia next year.

Plus, the Magnite is also being referred to as a global model by Nissan, which means that it could still find its way to Malaysia, but nothing is confirmed for now.

On the exterior, the Magnite comes with all-LED front light package which includes the noticeable L-shaped daytime running lights that sit below the stylish slim LED headlamp, as well as an edgy grille featuring Nissan’s new brand logo.

On the inside, the Nissan Magnite promises to offer a high seating position and wide shoulder space between the driver and front passenger. Nissan says that rear passengers will get to enjoy a level of knee room that is usually found in vehicles one class above.

An 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto joins the first-in-class 7-inch thin-film-transistor instrument screen.

Powering the Nissan Magnite is an all-new, 1.0-liter turbocharged engine and probably a CVT which sends power to the front wheels. Complementing the powertrain are features like the 205 mm ground clearance, Hill Start Assist, silver front and rear bumper skid plates, functional roof rails, as well as Nissan’s 360-degree Around View Monitor.

To ensure it can handle the rigors of any road, the Nissan Magnite has been tested at Nissan’s Tochigi Proving Ground in Japan, where vehicles like the Nissan GT-R and the upcoming Nissan Ariya crossover EV have been put through their paces.

Whether the list of features will be the same in Indonesia, and whether this model will make it to other markets remains unknown for now, so watch this space for more updates.
