BMW Malaysia today announced the introduction of the updated BMW 320i Sport, with the latest infotainment system.
Priced at RM243,883 on the road with extended warranty and service package minus insurance, the price of the car has increased by RM4,000.
What’s new?
What the extra money gets you is the latest version of BMW Live Cockpit Professional infotainment system with an upgraded information cluster.
The central information display and instrument display cluster have both received updates, with the former now equipped with a new 10.25-inch display featuring a resolution of 1920×720 – a step up from the previous 1280×480 on an 8.8-inch display.
The instrument display cluster on the other hand, features a new large 12.3-inch display, a significant increase from the previous 5.1-inch.
More driver-oriented
The focused and fully-configurable display also features a minimalistic, uniform appearance that offers more space in the centre for navigation and other important information prioritised by the driver.
The selected Driver Experience modes in Sport, Comfort and Eco Pro are also displayed with a consistent colour and visual treatment across the instrument cluster and centre display.
The new BMW 320i Sport also features a new rev counter with counter-clockwise RPM movement, along with the fuel level, speed and engine temperature presented in tube rings.
Configurable functions and widgets include the sports scoreboards, driving data, fuel consumption and efficiency, as well as the G-Force meter and radio or media playback.
Reverse assistant
The new BMW 320i Sport also comes with features such as the Reversing Assistant for hands free, semi-autonomous convenience when reversing in narrow streets, along with the Rear View Camera that is fitted as standard – powered by the latest BMW Operating System 7.0.
The New BMW 320i Sport also arrives with the advanced BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant that is a voice-activated feature providing the driver with a complete and convenient control over the vehicle settings, navigation, and entertainment systems.
“Hey BMW”
The system can be activated via a simple “Hey BMW” expression or an individual personal activation word. Additionally, the BMW ConnectedDrive continues to equip owners with the Intelligent Emergency Call and Teleservices which reacts automatically if an accident occurs.
On the exterior, the variant is equipped with sporty 18-inch light alloy wheels in V-Spoke Style 780 Bicolour.
Under the hood, the BMW 320i Sport retains the 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo petrol engine, paired with the 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission.
Performance
Capable of generating a maximum output of 184 hp and a peak torque of 300 Nm, the car is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds, while consuming 6.3 litres of fuel per 100 km.
