2021 Ducati Monster is Now in Malaysia – RM69,900

Ducati Malaysia today officially launched the All-New Ducati Monster at the brand’s flagship facility in Petaling Jaya.

Offered with a limited-time launch price of RM69,900, buyers can have the Monster either in Ducati Red and Dark Stealth with black wheels combination, or Aviator Grey with Red GP wheels.

Those who want even more sportiness can opt for the Monster Plus Package which adds on front fairings and a passenger seat cover.

Powering the all-new Ducati Monster is a 937cc L-twin Testastretta 11° engine with Desmodromic distribution producing 111 hp and 93 Nm of torque, which is paired to the a new gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift Up/Down fitted as standard.

Thanks to the increased displacement of 937 cc versus the outgoing 821 cc, torque has improved across the rev range, particularly in the medium-low range.

The bike has been completely redesigned from the ground up, featuring a new subframe, new rim design, a new swingarm, and a new and lighter aluminium front frame.

Thanks to the lighter frame and other new lightweight components, the dry weight of the Monster now stands at 166 kg (20 kg less than the Monster 821), translating into a more agile bike than before.

The design reinterprets the key elements of the Monster, such as the “bison-back” fuel tank, the circular headlight, the clean tail and the engine centre-stage, resulting in a more contemporary overall aesthetic.

The shapes have evolved to emphasize functionality and technology, with narrow sides that allow the rider to easily place his/her feet on the ground when the bike is stationary.

The saddle height which stands at 820 mm in the standard version can be adjusted to 775 mm by mounting the low saddle accessory and the lowered suspension kit.

According to Ducati, the ergonomics of the bike has improved with the saddle moving closer to the handlebar, allowing the rider to maintain a more upright position, with lesser load on the wrists.

The steering angle has also been increased to 36° (a full 7° more than the 821) to ensure maximum manoeuvrability even at low speeds, while the footrests have been repositioned to offer a more comfortable riding position.

The list of standard electronic equipment includes ABS Cornering, Traction Control and Wheelie Control, Launch Control, three Riding Modes (Sport, Urban, Touring), the Smart Power Mode function, a 4.3-inch colour TFT dashboard, Ducati Multimedia System (DMS) with Bluetooth connectivity, and a USB socket under the saddle.
