Asia’s growth markets represent a significant piece of the pie for the trucking segment and UD
Trucks, through its authorised distributor in Malaysia, Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE), is strengthening its presence here by launching the all-new Quester heavy duty truck range to increase their competitiveness.
It will be priced at RM328,000 for the full chassis model, but in conjunction with the launch, the first
50 units of the Quester that is booked will be sold at a discount price of RM305,000.
Furthermore, the all-new Quester trucks come with free maintenance for the first year that covers all labour, parts and lubricants. After the first year, TCIE is more than happy to discuss a maintenance contract with the truck operators that would see savings on the maintenance side.
The Quester is based on a completely new and modern heavy duty truck platform designed to serve a wide range of applications such as mining, construction, distribution and long-haul transportation in Asia’s growth markets and beyond.
“As UD Trucks’ latest technologically-advanced truck specifically developed for the world of heavy transportation, we are convinced that this is a truck made for our customers who are in the growing long-haul transportation, distribution, construction and mining industries in Malaysia,” said Tan Keng Meng, TCIE Sdn Bhd executive director.
“More than 400 experts of different nationalities with varied knowledge and experience have been involved in the design and development to validate and industrialise Quester and its associated services. We have spent 1.5 million engineering hours and 65,000 test hours to ensure that Quester delivers as good in real conditions as when it was conceived by our skilled engineers,” added Joachim Rosenberg, Executive Vice President Volvo Group and Chairman of UD Trucks.
The Quester’s heavy-duty chassis with high flexibility is one of its main features, providing options for chassis layout, including different wheelbases, a range of fuel tank sizes and different exhaust directions.
Versatility is one of the key aspects of the Quester as it allows customisation for most transport requirements while enabling excellent fuel consumption and high average speed.
