The launch of the highly anticipated model will take place in conjunction with Proton’s 40th anniversary
The wait is over guys. The Proton X90 will finally be launched on the 7th of May 2023 at the MITEC Exhibition Centre and coming to officiate the SUV and also to reveal its price is none other than our Prime Minister , YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim himself.
In addition to the Proton X90, the Prime Minister will also be officiating Proton’s 40th anniversary celebrations on that day. In an effort to commemorate the milestone occasion, it is said that a special short film will be premiered, showcasing the brand’s journey since 1983.
Coming back to the Proton X90, what we know so far is that there will be four variants, namely the X90 Standard, X90 Executive, X90 Premium, and X90 Flagship – all of which will be powered by the same 1.5L Mild Hybrid powertrain which comprises the 1.5-litre TGDi turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine and a 48-volt electric motor, which brings the total output to 190 PS and 300 Nm. Paired with the engine is a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox which sends all the power exclusively to the front wheels.
While the Standard, Executive, and Premium variants feature a seven-seater (2-3-2) configuration, only the Flagship variant will come with six seats (2-2-2). Safety features on the other hand, include front and rear collision warnings and prevention, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors all around, a 360-degree panoramic view monitor, a reverse camera, as well as Traffic Sign Information.
