Many of you would’ve seen the viral Facebook post of a distraught Bezza owner whose brand-new car broke down just eight hours after collecting it in October 2023. Turns out that some sugar-like material was found in the engine.

After the folks at the Perodua dealership in Segamat, Johor told her what was wrong, the owner, Nagakanni Subramaniam, asked the national carmaker if it would be possible to get a replacement car since her car broke down only eight hours after collecting it, to which the Perodua outlet responded by saying that she would have to apply for another loan.

Nagakanni said ‘no’ as nothing was discussed on how the existing loan was going to be settled. So, afraid of having to worry about two loans instead of one, the owner insisted that she was not going to apply for another loan, and waited for the Perodua dealership to respond until two days ago when she brought the issue up on Facebook as there was no word from the dealership.

Seeing how much the issue has escalated, Perodua’s COO issued a statement below yesterday:

However, a follow-up Facebook post by the owner today says that there was no “black-and-white” by Perodua saying that they will buy the car back from her, let alone how they are going to do it.

“If Perodua wants to buy the car back from me, please be my guest but where is the “black-and-white” saying that they will do so?”, said Nagakanni in her most recent Facebook post regarding the issue.

The post:

That being said, we hope that Perodua manages to trace where the sugar-like susbstance came from as soon as possible and that the issue gets resolved quickly before it escalates any further.
