GWM Malaysia is officially accepting bookings for its next new model in Malaysia – the Tank 500 HEV which was shown to us at last year’s Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS 2024).
Building on the strong reception of the TANK 300, the TANK 500 HEV brings a new level of refinement to adventure-ready vehicles. This seven-seater SUV features a commanding presence, measuring 5,078 mm long, 1,934 mm wide, and 1,905 mm high, with a generous 2,850 mm wheelbase.
Under the hood is a 2.0-litre turbocharged hybrid engine paired with a 9-speed hybrid automatic transmission, delivering 255 kW (346 PS) and 648 Nm of torque.
Engineered for off-road excellence, the TANK 500 HEV is equipped with an Intelligent All-Terrain System offering 11 drive modes, Off-Road Cruise Control, TANK Turn, and a transparent chassis for enhanced visibility. An intelligent 4WD system with M-Lock and L2+ advanced driving assistance systems ensure confidence across all terrains.
Inside, the SUV is outfitted with luxury touches such as NAPPA leather upholstery, massage and ventilated front seats, an Infinity audio system, and electric side steps. Safety features include an ultra-high-strength body structure and six airbags.
Part of GWM’s globally acclaimed off-road portfolio, the TANK brand has sold over 600,000 units worldwide and has held the title of China’s best-selling off-road SUV for 52 consecutive months with more than 50% market share.
Pre-bookings for the GWM TANK 500 HEV are now open, with an estimated price tag of under RM350,000. The model will be available at 14 selected GWM dealerships nationwide. Customers can choose from three distinctive exterior colours: Crystal Gray, Hamilton White, and Sun Black.
