Logistics and Transportation Companies to Visit International Commercial Vehicle Fair with MAN

MAN is presenting a strong future-proof portfolio of trucks at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2016 (IAA 2016). For the 2017 range, MAN merges engines with new power levels of up to 640 HP and higher torque with finely tuned transmissions and switching functions into application-optimised drivetrains. This is accompanied by exterior and interior design innovations in the TG range.

The IAA 2016 is the world’s leading trade fair for mobility, transportation and logistics. This year, senior representatives from several companies from the haulier, logistics as well as from the oil and gas industry in Malaysia will be joining MAN Truck and Bus (M) Sdn Bhd to visit the international commercial vehicle fair that will be held in Hanover, Germany from 22nd to 29th September 2016.

“I am delighted at this opportunity to join MAN’s entourage to visit the IAA to learn more about the new innovations of MAN trucks and the latest trends and developments in the transport and logistics industry. We regard MAN as our trusted partner in helping us meet the transportation needs of our customers”, said Lee Kah Chye, CEO of Lee Ting San Group of Companies, which has a fleet of close to 1,000 vehicles for its nationwide and cross-border transportation services. Lee will also tour MAN’s manufacturing plant in Munich to observe the production process of MAN trucks.

During the fair, MAN will spotlight on its optimized engine programme that can help improve fuel consumption and ensure increased performance and driving dynamics as well as the expected high level of reliability. The new generation D38 engine offers up to 640 HP and the new D26 offers a power spectrum from 420 to 500 HP with a simultaneously low tare weight and low fuel consumption. In combination with the new versions of the MAN TipMatic transmission with individually coordinated driving programmes for every area of application, the MAN ranges provide highly efficient, economical and environmentally-friendly drivetrains.

In addition to this, MAN will be unveiling numerous design innovations for its TG series at the IAA 2016. The MAN Lion impresses with a striking exterior look and the interior of all TG models is characterized by a warm color scheme, with new fabrics and seat covers creating a bright and high-quality image that is perfectly rounded off by the concise design of the steering wheel.

For the TGS series, aerodynamically optimized radiator fins with their upward angled blade profile improve the air flow to the radiator located behind and increase the cooling efficiency. The new standard steering wheels optimises the centre of the driver’s workplace both optically and ergonomically and the new seat covers provide a sporty and secure grip as well as comfortable seating.

MAN has optimised the automated TipMatic gearbox in their vehicles with individual moving-off and switching strategies for each specific area of application and added various new functions to enhance efficiency and comfort. The new functions of the gearbox are available for all 12-speed gearbox versions in the new TG generation and can be broken down into various gearshift programmes to be adjusted for both on-the-road and off-road usage.

“We are excited with what we can show our customers at this year’s IAA as well as our manufacturing plant in Munich. We will continue to offer products and solutions to help them decrease the total cost of ownership (TCO) by making maintenance costs transparent and predictable, unlocking savings potential in fleet management”, said Hartmut Mueller, Managing Director of MAN Truck and Bus (M) Sdn Bhd.
