Priced from RM99,900, the BYD Dolphin is the second cheapest EV in Malaysia
After much anticipation, BYD today launched its second EV in Malaysia – the BYD Dolphin, which will be joining the BYD Atto 3 in the brand’s product portfolio.
There will be two variants, namely the BYD Dolphin Dynamic Standard Range which is priced at RM100,530 on the road without insurance, and the BYD Dolphin Premium Extended Range which goes for RM125,530 on the road without insurance. Looking at the price tag, the BYD Dolphin is actually the second cheapest EV in Malaysia after the Neta V which is priced at RM99,800.
Measuring 4,290 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, the BYD Dolphin comes with a wheelbase length of 2,700 mm, and a ground clearance of 130 mm, which makes it as big as a compact SUV.
Both variants come with a six-year, 150,000-km factory warranty, while the battery comes with an eight year or 160,000 km warranty. BYD is also offering a separate warranty of eight years or 150,000 km for the motor, motor controller, DC assembly, and electric control assembly.

As for the colour options, the BYD Dolphin Dynamic Standard Range comes in three exterior colour combinations – Atlantis Grey and Deland Black, Ski White and Urban Grey, as well as Surf Blue and Urban Grey, with an interior colour combo of either Grey and Black, or Blue and Black.
The higher-spec BYD Dolphin Premium Extended Range on the other hand, can be had in either Urban Grey or Sand White, with either Grey and Black, or Brown and Black combination.
