Just a couple of weeks ago, BMW unveiled the new 2021 5 Series, and as expected, the folks at Munich have taken the wraps off the most insane variants of them all – the M5 and M5 Competition.

Bad news first – there is no bump in power as the 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 engine has been carried over, kicking out 600 PS and 750 Nm of torque in the regular M5, while the M5 Competition makes 625 PS.

While the M5 is able to do the century sprint in 3.4 seconds, the M5 Competition does it in 3.3 seconds. Top speed stands at 305 km/h.

Complementing the engine is the same eight-speed M Steptronic automatic gearbox as before, the M xDrive all-wheel drive system, and the Active M Differential.

The good news – The car looks absolutely brutal thanks to the updated design and the long list of cosmetic enhancements.
