Honda Malaysia presented a unit of the all-new Honda City RS e:HEV to Invest Melaka Berhad (IMB).
The presentation, which was in collaboration with SOCAR Mobility Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (SOCAR), was actually held in conjunction with the 50th anniversary celebration of Melaka State Development Corporation (PKNM).
The All-New City RS e:HEV was presented by Mr. Sarly Adle Sarkum, President and Chief Operating Officer of Honda Malaysia to Tuan Haji Ramli Bin Mohd Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Invest Melaka Berhad at a ceremony held in Menara MITC, Melaka.
A bit on the Honda City RS e:HEV
Launched last October, the All-New Honda City RS e:HEV features a few features that sets it apart from the other variants, like the new Gloss Black Front Grille, Lower Front Grille, new rear Bumper with Diffuser, New Gloss Black Trunk Spoiler, New Gloss Black Door Mirrors as well as Dual‑Tone 16‑inch Alloy Wheels.
Within the interior, the All-New City RS e:HEV variant is fitted with Ultrasuede Seats and Red Stitching, offering an overall package that is beyond its segment.
Additionally, it is also equipped with a highly efficient 2-motor hybrid system powered by a 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) system. The e:HEV system is revolutionary as it is able to deliver 109PS and best-in-class high torque of 253Nm.
When combined with Electric Continuous Variable Transmission (e-CVT), it delivers a powerful and smooth acceleration that is equivalent to a D-segment Naturally Aspirated engine’s level of torque. The e:HEV system can seamlessly regulate between the three driving modes which are EVDrive, HybridDrive and EngineDrivein the most efficient way.
Honda Connect
The All‑New City RS e:HEV is the first model amongst Honda’s line-up to be furnished with an innovative Honda CONNECT technology which utilizes smart Telematics Technology, providing an advanced and integrated 24-hour communications system. It also functions to ensure Safety, Security & Convenience to Honda car owners.
Key functions of the Telematics technology in Honda CONNECT include Vehicle Diagnostics, Remote Applications, Security Applications, Vehicle Tracking and Support Services – all of which are aimed at easing owner’s accessibility to their vehicle and its information whenever and wherever.
The innovative technology also features Emergency Call (e-Call) function that elevates Mobility as a Service (MaaS), which is one of the three main thrusts of Malaysia’s NAP 2020. In summary, Honda CONNECT embodies Honda’s vision of value creation for mobility and people’s daily lives which is also in line with the Malaysian Government’s direction in promoting the NAP 2020.
Honda Sensing
Next, the All-New City RS e:HEV also comes with the enhanced Honda Sensing, which was developed to realize the vision of a collision‑free mobile society by utilizing a front wide view camera to better recognize road boundaries during day and night driving conditions. The suite of driver assistance safety systems in Honda Sensing includes:
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
- Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Auto High Beam (AHB)
Besides these advanced technologies, the All-New City RS e:HEV is also packed with first in its class features namely the Honda LaneWatch and Electric Parking Brake (EPB).
It also comes with a standard host of safety features which include Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Rear Seat ISOFIX I-SIZE Type and New Rear Seatbelt Reminder. Other additional safety features in this variant include Reverse Sensors with Multi-angle Reverse Camera and Auto Brake Hold (ABH) which enables the vehicle’s stationary position to be held with only a push of a button.
