Ferrari recently announced that Ital Auto Sdn Bhd (IAMSB) has been appointed as the new custodian for the Ferrari brand in Malaysia effective from the 5th of May 2023.
For those who didn’t know, IAMSB is actually a subsidiary of Ital Auto Pte Ltd (IAPL), which is the official importer of Ferrari vehicles in Singapore.
The company, which has represented the Prancing Horse in Singapore for more than 13 years, happens to be a subsidiary of Komoco Holdings, a Singapore-based dealer group with regional automotive interests including a Ferrari dealership in Shanghai, China.
That being said, Ferrari also announced that the entire existing operating team from the previous custodian, Naza Italia Sdn Bhd, will be transferred to IAMSB.
This is in line with the fact that the Naza Italia dealership staff have established a good reputation as well as a strong relationship with the existing group of Ferrari vehicle owners in Malaysia.
With the transfer of staff and assets, Ferrari and Naza Italia have finally brought their long partnership to an amicable close in the country.
In addition to the Ferrari showroom beside the Federal Highway in Petaling Jaya, IAMSB is currently constructing a temporary dedicated aftersales facility in Glenmarie which will be operational from June 2023.
The company is also setting up another city showroom which will be located in the retail podium of the Four Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. It is said that a brand new flagship 3S centre which is fully compliant with Ferrari’s corporate identity standards, will be up and running in the first quarter of the year 2025.
This announcement follows the statement made by Ferrari Far East, which is responsible for Ferrari operations in the Far East and Middle East regions, which covers North East Asia (Japan, South Korea), South East Asia (ASEAN countries), Australasia (Australia and New Zealand) and the Middle East last month that the business partnership between Ferrari S.p.A. and Naza Italia, the brand’s current authorised distributor, will end on April 8, 2023.
