UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) yesterday introduced two exciting new models to the Malaysian market, namely the new 2025 Camry and the new 2025 Corolla Cross, making their debut at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024 (KLIMS 2024) on 4th December 2024.
The new model is available in the sole 2.5 HEV variant to deliver exceptional performance tailored for diverse driving needs. Not your average hybrid car, the powerful 2.5 HEV is engineered with Toyota’s 5th-generation Hybrid System, combining the Dynamic Force Engine and a compact electric transaxle together with a lithium-ion high-voltage battery to deliver increased power, reduced emissions, and outstanding fuel efficiency, proving that this new model launch is a new chapter in sedan excellence.
The Camry’s powertrain comprises a 2.5 litre Dynamic Force A25A-FXS four-cylinder engine producing a maximum output of 186 PS and 221 Nm of torque, which is complemented by an electric motor churning out 136 PS and 208 Nm of torque, which brings the combined output to 230PS. Sending all that power to the wheels is an e-CVT gearbox.
On the exterior, the new Camry’s bold front design features the new “Hammerhead” styling inspired by the bold structure of the Hammerhead shark and sleek, refined styling of the Toyota Crown.
A slim upper grille and a wide lower grille that creates a sophisticated and aggressive stance. Aerodynamic air curtains enhance handling stability and reduce turbulence, merging efficiency with style.
The interior cabin offers ventilated seats for the driver and front passenger, a redesigned steering wheel for a luxurious feel, and a 12.3-inch multimedia display with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wired Android Auto. A 12.3-inch full-colour Multi-Information Display (MID) provides easy access to essential vehicle information.
The new 2025 Camry is available starting at RM248,800 for the 2.5 HEV. Customers can choose from six premium colours, including new options like Cement Grey, Dark Blue Mica, Precious Metal, and Emotional Red, alongside classic favourites such as Platinum White Pearl and Attitude Black.
