Mazda Malaysia today announced that the Mazda6 as well as the MX-5 have been updated for the year 2021 with a few subtle yet key upgrades.
Wireless Apple CarPlay
For the Mazda6, the Apple CarPlay system in the sedan has now been updated to Wireless Apple CarPlay for all variants. Meanwhile, the Mazda6 2.0L SKYACTIV-G Sedan variant now comes equipped with Advanced Keyless Entry and Walkaway door lock features as well as Paddle shifters.
The Mazda6 2.5L Sedan variant adds unique styling to encourage fans to go against the grain. The 2.5L variant now features 19” Black Metallic Alloy Rims and Gloss Black Outer Door Mirrors for a sportier and more distinctive look.
Burgundy Red interior
The interior now has Burgundy Red coloured leather seats. In addition, the dash and door trims have Burgundy Red coloured stitching to help bring the colour scheme together.
The Mazda6 is currently CBU from Japan and is available in two engine choices; SKYACTIV-G 2.0L & 2.5L. Both variants are paired with the SKYACTIV-DRIVE 6-Speed Automatic transmission with Manual Shift mode, G-Vectoring Control Plus and front-wheel drive.
The colour line-up includes Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Snowflake White Pearl, Sonic Silver, Deep Crystal Blue, Jet Black and one newly added colours which is the Polymetal Gray; making a total of 7 colours available.
Price
Selling price for the car starts at RM170,917 for the 2.0 sedan variant inclusive of the 50% Sales Tax Reduction (SST) on CBU models and is valid from now to 30th June 2021. The Mazda6 2.5L Sedan on the other hand asks for RM207,642.
The model comes with a 5-Years Manufacturer Warranty + 5-Years Free Maintenance according to manufacturer’s standards inclusive of labour, parts and lubricants. Both Manufacturer Warranty and Free Maintenance have a coverage period of five years and a mileage limit of 100,000km, whichever comes first.
2021 Mazda MX-5
As for the MX-5, Apple CarPlay has now been updated to Wireless Apple CarPlay for both 2.0L AT and MT variants. All other specifications remain unchanged.
The Mazda MX-5 RF is CBU from Japan and comes standard with a SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter engine, producing 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Transmission options include a SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
No mechanical updates

Selling price for the new 2021 Mazda MX-5 RF is RM258,591 for the manual and RM260,527 for the automatic.
