MITI Minister presented with a Chery Omoda E5 EV

Chery Malaysia recently presented a unit of the soon-to-be-launched Chery Omoda E5 electric crossover to the Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry Malaysia (MITI), YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.

In an exclusive ceremony held at MITI head office, the Chairman of Chery Automobile Co. Ltd personally presented the Omoda E5 to Minister Tengku Zafrul under the
witness of many leaders & partners.

This all-electric SUV, which continues the classic performance of OMODA 5 and incorporates front-end intelligent technology, was also showcased at an exclusive media preview event at the end of November.

To gain a clearer understanding of Malaysia’s new automotive policies and trends, the senior executives held discussions with Malaysian automotive market players, Chery dealers investors, and other key industry representative during the visit.

All parties exchanged views on the progress of important projects in Malaysia for the group. They also delved into topics such as the development strategy of Chery Malaysia, and the layout of new energy vehicle. Continuing Chery’s deep commitment to Malaysia’s new energy automotive development, contributing to the local automotive industry’s upgrade.

During the meeting, Mr. Yin Tong Yue stated, “Malaysia is a crucial part of Chery’s global strategy. The CKD factory invested by the group will not only cover the local Malaysian market but will also radiate throughout the entire Southeast Asian region, becoming a stronghold for new forces to enter Southeast Asia in the future.”
At the subsequent dinner with dealer representatives, the Chery’s leaders expressed gratitude to the partners for their support in driving the group’s development in
Southeast Asia.

They hoped to explore new models, optimize new services, leverage more significant market potential, and bring more high-quality and diverse choices to Malaysian consumers. Earlier, Chery’s latest export data released in October showed that its global cumulative export volume had exceeded 130,000 vehicles, leading the way in the cross-boundary SUV track and leading the trend of future travel.

This success is closely related to OMODA’s excellent performance and reputation in the local market. In October, OMODA successively launched in Southeast Asian markets such as Vietnam, injecting more vitality into the Southeast Asian market and laying an important tone for OMODA’s positive development in the Southeast Asian market.
