UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) recently presented a donation of RM200,000 to the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), reinforcing Toyota’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community and championing its “Mobility for All” mission.

Toyota’s “Start Your Impossible” campaign, launched in conjunction with the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, celebrates the company’s transition to a mobility-focused company and its commitment to fostering inclusivity and innovation through its global partnership with the International Olympic and Paralympic Committees.

In line with this initiative, UMWT hosts the annual Toyota Outrun, a fun run designed to promote an active lifestyle, encourage personal challenges, and reinforce the brand’s commitment to social responsibility and leadership in innovative mobility solutions.

Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT, said, “Toyota believes in the power of mobility to improve lives. The Toyota Outrun 2024 event embodies this spirit, uniting thousands of people of all ages to promote a healthy lifestyle and support a worthy cause. We are honoured to partner with the National Cancer Society Malaysia for second time to support their fight against cancer and making a difference in the community through our donation from the event.”

The Toyota Outrun fun run is not just about encouraging a healthy lifestyle, but also about making a difference. A portion of the proceeds supports meaningful causes, including donations to NGOs like the National Cancer Society Malaysia, reflecting Toyota’s deep commitment to making a positive impact.

The 2024 Toyota Outrun, held on 23rd June 2024 at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, brought together 6,000 participants of all ages and raised RM200,000 for the NCSM. This inspiring turnout showcased the power of the community and demonstrated the importance of early cancer detection and prevention. The funds will enable NCSM to advance key initiatives, including cancer prevention programs, patient support services, and research efforts, driving meaningful progress in the fight against cancer.

The official handover ceremony that took place at the National Cancer Society Malaysia today serves as a significant milestone in the partnership between UMW Toyota Motor and NCSM, reaffirming their dedication to enhancing the lives of cancer patients and their families.
