Didi Resources, the official distributor of the Vespa brand in Malaysia has introduced the new Vespa Sprint S with TFT Dashboard.
Underpinned by a Bronzo Antico steel body that is further enhanced with contrasting black and Nero Opaco bronze finishing, the Vespa Sprint S’s main highlight is the newly added TFT dashboard which is complemented by the Vespa Mia connectivity system.
Vespa Mia Connectivity
The Vespa Mia connectivity system allows owners to connect their smartphone (regardless of whether it is iOS or Android) to the on-board electronic system of the Vespa Sprint S via Bluetooth.
Once a smartphone is connected to the Vespa Sprint S via the dedicated Vespa App (available for download in the App Store or Google Play), the TFT display will show all notifications regarding incoming calls and messages in the centre of the screen.
The system also allows for the management of calls, thanks to the practical joystick located on the left-hand control block.
The app also works as a source of useful information regarding vehicle status, riding parameters and travel statistics, which can be viewed on the smartphone.
Vespa Sprint S Powertrain
Powering the Vespa Sprint S with TFT Dashboard is Piaggio’s 155 cc I-get single cylinder, 4 stroke, three valve engine which produces 12.9 hp and 12.8 Nm of maximum torque. The Port Fuel Injected engine is paired to an automatic gear.
The bike also comes with Single arm with helical spring and single double-acting hydraulic shock absorber in front, Double-acting shock absorber with preloading, ABS, 200 mm stainless steel brake disc up front, electric starter, as well as a fuel tank capacity of seven litres.
The engine control unit also contains a barometric sensor, which ensures always optimum combustion under all conditions and at all altitudes. The engine power and torque delivered thus reach new levels of steadiness and reliability, also in city traffic.
Design
Design wise, the new Vespa Sprint S is characterized by a new finishing colour, very youthful lines, emphasized by a rectangular headlight and and large 12-inch wheels that come in either matt or glossy finish.
That being said, the official selling price for Vespa Sprint S with TFT is RM19,900. The new model is now available at all authorised Vespa dealers nationwide.
